Herptiles ~ in this case, Amphibians and Reptiles, these have been grouped together simply because there are so few in the U.K.
Just six of each. The reptiles are; grass snake, adder (or viper), slow-worm, common (or viviparous) lizard, sand lizard and smooth snake.
The reptiles are; grass snake, adder (or viper), slow-worm, common (or viviparous) lizard, sand lizard and smooth snake.
The amphibians; Common frog, common toad, natterjack toad, smooth (or common) newt, palmate newt, great crested newt.
To call any of these common is misleading as they once were but unfortunately, it’s no longer the case. All of our wildlife is disappearing fast.
